my latest project...

In my last post I alluded to changes that will be impacting some upcoming projects.
Well, this change is perhaps the most impactful of them all....

Is anyone still out there?

February 26. That was the last time I blogged.

So much has happened since then and even before then that I am not 100% certain I am ready to talk about on the blog just yet. Let's just say, 2014 has really turned my world upside down. "Oh Jenna, you're just being dramatic," you're probably thinking. I assure you, I am not.

But I can tell you, these changes are bringing up some exciting opportunities for blog posts, so you can look forward to some new home projects in the coming months.

I don't mean to be cryptic, but like I said, some of the things I'm just not ready to discuss yet. But I wanted to explain why I have been so silent.... that is, if anyone out there still cares about my little slice of the blogosphere.

See you soon.

things...

to say things have been a little topsy turvy around here the last month is putting it mildly. I won't get into what has been happening, but as I come out of the haze, it's really put a lot of things into perspective. first of all, I have an amazing husband. I don't say it enough. I don't know what I would do without him, literally. My family and friends aren't too shabby either. Being surrounded by so many wonderful people makes me realize how lucky I am. Tough times have a way of making things clearer, and the things that aren't, well, I just have to remember this....

Apologies to the author of this, I pinned it and now the only link is to Google.

During this time, my design plans have taken a back seat. The house is at a stand still. So I'm putting it out there in cyberspace to keep myself on task. These are the things I want to accomplish in the next month:

  • Buffet/sideboard for dining room
  • New light fixture for dining room
  • Floor lamp for family room
  • New kitchen calendar/frame
  • Bedding for guest room
  • Bedding for our room
  • Hang art/photos around the house
  • Make wedding polaroid collage
  • Spray paint the backlog of items I have accumulating in the garage

girl power!

There is no denying that women's volleyball has been out of this world during the London Olympics. From the indoor team to the USA beach volleyball duos going gold and silver, they've had me jumping around my living room, wishing I could return to my college volleyball days. All of these ladies couldn't be better representatives for this amazing sport. But these two are in a league of there own. The best team to ever hit the beach and an inspiration to little (and big) girls everywhere.

I left my heart in Boston...

things have been a little quiet around here because the Mr. and I enjoyed a nice little getaway to Boston last week. I had never been before and about 10 minutes after landing, I was in love. The city is just beautiful. So historic and lush with trees and gardens. It is such a walkable city too. We only took a cab once because it was raining. I could have stayed there much longer and I'm already planning my next visit. The only bummer was that I didn't see any of the New Kids around town. Maybe next time.
Here are few pics of our adventures:

Row 1: Old South Church, Boston Public Garden, Swan Boats in the Garden, waiting for the Freedom Trail tour
Row 2: Freedom Trail guide Colonial Cal, balcony where the Declaration of Independence was read for the first time, Boston Common, carousel in the Common
Row 3: Fenway, L Street Tavern featured in Good Will Hunting, the table/booth in the Skylar scene in GWH, the bar featured in The Town (we took a Boston movie tour that took you to sites of all the major pictures filmed in Boston, do it if you go, it was so fun!)
Row 4: On the Harbor, The Black Rose Irish Pub, JJ Foley's Irish Pub (we did our own impromptu  pub crawl), Cheers!
Row 5: Harpist on Boylestown St., the back of Sarah McLachlan (if you follow me on FB you'll know I followed her for 5 blocks trying to get up the courage to say something but never did), heading out for the night, at Legal Sea Foods
