Target clearance round-up...

You can't beat Target for clearance deals. If you strike at the right time, you can score some great stuff for very little cheddar. Here are a few of the things I found recently:

These 8x10 silver frames were regularly $29.99 each. I got them for $4.98 each. BOOM!
My gallery wall is coming together.

This cute bowl is perfect to hold my salt for cooking and matches my olive oil decanter. Only $6.98.

I'd been looking for a table cloth for a side table in our guest room for at least 6 months. This one was $4.98 and good solid fabric.

All this Target talk is making me want to go shopping!

target finds: threshold obsessed...

I have to confess, I am in love with all things Threshold at Target. For those living under a rock, (just kidding) Threshold is Target's in-house home decor line. It's a great blend of shabby-chic and modern design. On a recent trip to Target, I took pics of some of my favorite items in store right now. Enjoy!

They have a huge selection of teal and gold accents. I love that combo.

Can you be in love with a table? This gold wire side table is meant to live in my house.

These brass cage candleholders would look fantastic in a cluster on a mantel or console table.

Aren't these little brass animals the cutest?

These look like they are straight out of an old farm house. And they need to come straight into my house!

You all know how much I love reclaimed wood mirrors. This one is not the right size for my space but still cute none the less. Paired with the mirrored tray, it would look great in an entry way.

This small rug is so cheery. The blend of aqua, mustard and coral just screams spring!

If you like any of these items, I would run, not walk, to your local Target. The Threshold line always sells out fast.

my weekend: a treasure hunting experience...

This weekend I decided to check out a local antique mall. I'd heard a lot about it but hadn't had a chance to make it there yet. It's called Duck Creek Antique Mall and if you live anywhere in the vicinity of Cincinnati, you MUST visit.

This place is massive. Two floors of booths. But it's not a flea market. It is quality stuff. I swear I could have lived in some of the booths. I spent over an hour and a half in there just browsing around, getting ideas. Here are some of my finds:

This is one of the booths I could have called home. Super mod, cool mix of wood and leather with just the right gold/brass accents. Loved it! Especially those lamps.

I have a dream that our front living room is going to have a cool lounge-y vibe from the Rat pack era. So of course that means a gold bar cart. This one was so cool because it had a handle to push the cart around and individual glass holders. A little brass cleaner and it would be good as new.

I kept coming back to look at this piece. I NEED it for my office. Gold. Sunburst. Birds. Love.

I was also obsessed with this vintage Ethan Allen credenza. This picture doesn't do it justice, but it was about 7 feet long and curved. All the doors folded up when you opened them. So cool. If only I had an extra $750 to spend.

This lamp was a hot mess but in a weird way I loved it. A coat of spray paint in a bold color and that shade could be pretty hip.

These lamps may have been the most hideous/intriguing thing I've ever seen. They looked like two pirate hats set upon a large branch with daisies jutting out of them. BIZARRE. Here's another look:

You just can't look away, can you?

I was super excited to see this! Remember the $12 magazine rack I refurbished over the summer?  This puppy was $60 and almost exactly the same thing. Except this one had an ash tray attached to the top. Practical for the 70s.

The remaining pictures brought me to a realization: I have an infatuation with magazine racks. Maybe it's the OCD organizer in me. Or maybe it's just the great shapes these things come in, but I took more than my fair share of photos of magazine racks. For your viewing pleasure:

It was such a great place and I will definitely be going back there soon. And this time to make some purchases!

Christmas decoration shopping...

during our visit to Iowa, my awesome mother-in-law took me shopping at some local shops for Christmas decorations. My husband's hometown has so many cute antique shops and home decor boutiques. I wish we had that many in our town. There is also an apple orchard that has a home store on the property and was full of great finds. It was two days of shopping and I loved every minute of it!

Some of the goodies I got include:
Cool coasters made of wood circles.

Wool snowflake pillow that has an envelope closure on the other side.

Reclaimed metal Christmas tree.

We had such a great time shopping and it was fantastic to get to spend such quality time with my mother-in-law. I wish we lived closer so we could spend more time together. I'm excited to share all of my finds with you and unveil our Christmas decorations.
